Wines from Romania

For more than 2,000 years, Romania has been producing high quality wine. Danex International recently began importing under the name Romania Vineyards fine wines produced in that eastern European country’s best wine - growing area: Merlot Special Reserve 1999 from Dealu Mare and Chardonnay 1999 supplied from Jidvei vineyard, an old vineyard on the Transylvania plateau known for quality dry, white wines. From the Cotnari vineyards, in the extreme northeast corner of the country, comes Tămâioasa Românească 2000 - a semi-sweet wine that is considered one of the best Romanian wines ever produced.
